I think "California blend" has a lot to do with it. I always got much worse MPG when living there.
The 12C is a fun car, but looking forward to the Huracan. The 12C averages 16mpg, and even gets 24mpg on the highway. I have lower fuel economy expectations for the Lambo.
The Lexus IS and the McLaren 12C are completely in different leagues in term of performance and price. I'm surprised of why you would drive the IS350 when you own such a super car? Is the Lexus IS350 THAT GOOD?? Well, don't you need at least an ISF?

The early 2G IS are very good, before Lexus started messing with the trim materials, UI colors/designs on the nav, etc. I'm super picky and the newer models just made a mess of the aesthetics. There's basically NO cars out there I really like (there's always something that annoys me). So I live with my IS which is a near perfect design (to me), or pay for a bespoke car tailored to my tastes. One of the almost dealbreakers for the Huracan for me is that most come with silver trim (ac vents, center console, etc). I was able to get the dealer have the factory to put matt black ones on my build.
Plus, you can't drive the 12C or Huracan to the mall at Xmas.
