Default 2006 Lexus IS350

Hi turned my car on today and my engine light, check vsc and traction control light came on. Connected it to a computer and the codes where p0606 ( processor failure )and p0138 (o2 sensor high voltage bank 1 sensor 2). Wondering is the p0606 major or is it failing because of the o2sensor. Also wondering why the traction light is on aswell?

That is normal for these Lexus models to do that. I could be wrong, but by default I believe when the CEL illuminates the T/C light comes on as well no matter the error code.

When the CEL comes on (for any reason), the computer disables the stability and traction control. That's what causes the Check VSC indication.

When the CEL light comes on with the traction control light, it usually means it has something to do with emissions.

It could be a loose gas cap, or a bad sensor (MAF, 02 sensor, etc.)

From my experience it was always a loose gas cap.

Good evening fellow Lexus member,

All of this is normal.

& once you change your o2sensor(Bank 1 Sensor 2 Oxygen Sensor) & reset all the codes that your problem will be solved.

what ever you do DO NOT take your car to Lexus Dealership & do this task all by yourself cause it's way too easy to save $600 + inside your own pocket.

Good Luck

That's so true. Dealer would charge you an arm and a leg. I've had a trusted mechanic to do it and he did both the O2 downstream ones (sensor 2) within an hour for $50 each (labor). Had the same P0138 code as well as accompanying pcm-related codes similar to above posts. Both downstream sensors were stuck so needed a torch to loosen it. Inside the car, the O2 connector is not under the seats as what I've read in other sites but just inside the carpet covers right beside driver's right leg or passenger's left legs. Mechanic just pried it open.

This happens to me occasionally. Just turn your car off and tighten your gas cap. Gets rid of this every time. If that doesn't work, it is most likely a bad O2 sensor. Just for future people seeing this.
