Default F Sport Wheel Paint

One of the wheels on my 2012 IS250 F Sport has some type of paint problem. There are two spots where the paint is rough and is turning white. Someone else I know is having the same issue on two of his wheels. Is this a common problem?

I have the factory 19" F sport accessorie wheels and mine is flaking and discolored too. Not sure its a common thing for this to happen so early.

Nope mine looks clean and shinny. I think what you experience is just brake dust caking on it for a long time.

Lexus wheel are cheaply paint to say the lease. Out here in the northeast after 2 yr you'll see the paint flake with corrustion. My old Acura I had own back in the days 10yrs and was in better condition and that with just washing it with water and soap. But if your still under factory warranty they should fix it.

I think it really depends on the condition and environment too. Road salt and snow in your area will rust anything lol.

I think Lexus paint on wheel is quite good for so many years as I posted in the picture, I know mine look fine and I only need to wash it with regular car shampoo. I guess it also depends on how the person take care of it too.

I hear you but same conditions different manufacturers Lexus vs Acura and 10 yrs old rim vs 2-3 yrs old rim. It's s no brainer cause I take care of the Lexus more than Acura. That just speak for it self on the wheel paint quality that Acura held up better. That why my stock rims are now my winter beater cause of the corrustion at the time only 2yrs old.

Interesting find. Somehow all my OEM on both cars IS250 and IS350 hold up very well in CA weather for many years. I sold the OEM wheel on one car though.

I thought it may have been the environment also because here in Key West there is a lot of salt and sometimes at high tide the streets have standing salt water puddles everywhere. I try to avoid them but its almost impossible sometimes. I just thought it was strange that its only one of my wheels but I am still under warranty so I will have to inquire about that.
