Default Black Screen When in Reverse (NAV Model)

A few weeks back I noticed when I was backing up that the screen was black but still had the "Check surroundings for safety" and I was able to remedy this issue by putting the car in park and shutting off the car and restarting it. This happened only a couple of times after the first time. Now it does this consistently and I've tried a couple of methods to see if that was the issue (pulling the negative terminal for 5 mins, pushing/pulling/wiggling the camera from the outside, pushing from the inside) to no avail. I'm really hoping that it may be the battery is low or something stupid and not the camera failing (as I spent a lot of money in the last couple of months for F Sport sway bars and endlinks, rear chassis brace, and the IS 350 brakes) and cannot really put more money into the car until my wallet can recover.

I've searched through 18 pages of search results with no real conclusive answer besides getting it replaced by warranty or few of the remedies I've already mentioned.

Oh what did we do before rear view cameras? LOL!

Have you done any work to the trunk lid recently or the camera? Or happens to the NAV unit itself?

We turned around and looked out the back? Lol. But in all honesty, it's more of like something is always up after I'm finished working or modifying it (bent up frustration if anything).

I've replaced the trunk switch about a month ago, that's about it besides cleaning the car with waterless wash and wax.

I few hours ago, I went out and pressed on the camera lens with my thumb for a moment and then started the car a good amount of time afterward and that brought the picture back. I'm not sure if the slamming of the trunk is what is causing it (the black screen) or something I may have goofed during the trunk button replacement.

I've had this same problem ever since I've owned the car (almost 8 years). Only happens a few times each month. But of course it has NEVER happened at the dealership. Maybe one of these days I'll figure it out.

Perhaps the cam wire connection is compromised or there is a pinched wire somewhere in that trunk lid.

I'm gonna have to monitor it closely and see if the wire connection is compromised. I wasn't able to mess with the wires when I took the liner apart (since I still not too sure about how to unhook the internal trunk release handle from the trunk). Only pushing on the camera lens was able to fix it for now. . .

Has anyone else had this or remedies for it?
