Headlight issue on sisters IS250 AWD
Every Lexus Ive ever owned had a V8, so Im new to this car. My sister has an 09 IS250 AWD that just ran out of warranty. Her problem is weird, and Ive been researching since yesterday but havent found a solution. If it were my car I probably wouldnt care as much about this, but this is my baby sister so I have to find a way to fix it for her.
Bottom line, when she leaves her headlights set to auto, they now remain on all the time, day and night. I made sure she had it in the right position and all, but even yesterday afternoon in the middle of the day, bright and sunny, when set to auto they came on and wouldnt turn off. The problem isnt that they stay on after locking the car for too long, Ive seen that issue popup all over the forum, but thats not her problem. The problem is the moment the car gets turned on, the headlights set to auto go on and stay on. The only thing that looked like a sensor to me was at the top of the windshield near where the rear view mirror is mounted, and I cleaned that with alcohol, but nothing. What am I missing?

Its an 09 with 70k, I wouldnt imagine something like this would fail so early. But these are all just cars, anything can happen anytime. Afterall, she didnt buy big brothers LS or GX Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located exactly, and maybe a part #? Anyone else have any ideas?
