Default Wheel Color? Opinions

so I got a set of the OEM staggered 18s for my silver is250 mt RWD because for some reason I got it with the 17s and I just used them as my winter beaters..but my question is, do you guys think I should get the 18s powder coated gloss black or like a dark grey or gunmetal grey. tryna figure out which would look/contrast best with the light silver color. windows are tinted 20 and emblems black btw. thanks guys

I'd go with the gunmetal. Black is too dark and has been done forever! You can try plasti dip in each of the colors to see the difference of you want to do work.

To be honest I would never go with black wheels if given to choice. It sounds good in theory, but in application its just visually unappealing. Black wheels tend to hide the details of the wheel and as a result, it makes your wheels look like steelies IMO. Go a gunmetal finish.

Or as Sffd103 mentioned, plastidip your wheels and see if like the black wheel look before painting/powdercoating.

^ what he said makes sense TOO me. I personally don't like black wheels, unless, it's only the center piece. I mean this isn't the darknights car anymore and people are playing it out. BUT remember it's your choice and go for what you dig. My opinion means squat but you asked. Lol

I would say if your going to send them out to get job done on the wheels,
why not get them 'Brushed Black' or Brushed Titanium' these would make the wheels look
a little different.....

Good Luck....

My car is tungsten pearl ( which is basically light silver ) and I have thought of painting my stock 18s black as well. I was THIS close to doing it but about 1 day before I was gonna get them done I had seen a 2is in my Exact same color , same black emblems, same tint and everything but he had black stock 18's.

After that day, even 10 months later, my 18's are still the stock color they came in lol I guess what you THINK is gonna look good isn't the same as what actually looks good

I definitely agree with you guys, black is getting played out too much and you can't really even see the wheel. thanks everyone

Please go with the two gray options you listed. Black is extremely tacky and it looks like something is off everytime I see someone with black wheels, especially plastidipped.

But to each their own!

Gunmetal will look way better... black shows scratches and scuff easily

The only way black looks good is with a polished lip, IMO. Not enough contrast between tire and wheel makes them look like steelies and you lose all the detail in the wheel.
