stock wheels 265\40\18 ?
Anyone running a larger tire on the rear, than the stock 255\40\18 on the original stock wheels ?
I have been looking at a next size up 265\40\18 . It will fit the stock rear wheel, wonder if it will rub?
You go from 26 inches diameter to 26.3. You gain in width of the tire as well,
you go from 9.5 wide to 10.2 inches wide.
Just wondering if anyone is running this size on the rear? It should give it a more raked look.
I appreciate it

Hi Gville350, hadn't talked to you in a while,. I was hoping you would reply, yeah stock suspension, I went and put on those blue Tokico HP shocks after the Kyb's went soft after a year( actually 6 months) . waited till the next summer to install the Tokico's. They are not to bad. holding up better than the KYB's
Thanks for answering my tire size fitment question. I'll look at the 35 series too. I appreciate it.
hope you're doing ok
Thanks!

^What size tire are you going to run? If you have the factory 18x8 & 18x8.5 wheels you can easily run a 235/35/18 tire on all fours with a vey minor stretch in the rear. But are you trying to get all four wheels the same size so you can fully rotate the wheels around to all four corners if need be?

Fits !
Update: I can report that 265/40-18 fit on the rear on stock rims. And they fill up that wheel well quite nicely ! Nice wide stance from the rear now, as it should be. I went with a Bridgestone Pole position something( cant remember) exactly. Its a nice summer tire that is quiet with good deep grooves for water.
Looks good and has a substantial rim protector.
So , will a 235/40 -18 fit the front ? That might be interesting to see. I doubt I ever buy a front wheel drive car ever again. ( unless its a clunker for winter)
Now I need some headlights. 2012 ones fit? I hate that the Sewell page is gone. annoyed.
Have a good one !

isn't going from 255 to 265 the roughly the same as 10" to 10.4"? Also, I believe 255 is the largest width generally recommended for an 8.5" wide rim. I have no idea how conservative that recommendation is.

At stock ride height on HARD corners you might experience some rubbing. But also keep in mind that some tires at naturally created wider than some. My BFG KDW IIs were slimmer say compared to the Michelin Super Sports of the exact same size and mounted on the same wheels.

My Michelin PSS 225/40/18 sometimes rub already, which is why I was interested to hear people with larger tires not rubbing.
