Default Installed Ap2 tips and Is F tails this weekend

I know there are tons of posts already but figured another example of Ap2 on GFX couldn't hurt. Also throwing in some of my comments on install. The Ap2 tips are claimed to be a direct fit from some but I would argue with them about this because the stock exhaust pipe has raised sections/grooves that allow stock exhaust tips to perfectly slide into. However when installing the Ap2 you will find there is some resistance and even with using a rubber mallet to tap them into place, it's still hard to get a 100% fit. I actually used pliers to form the stock pipe slightly to allow the Ap2 tips to slide on better. I would agree with others that the bolt on the bottom of the Ap2 tips seems to securely mount the tips to the stock pipe. As for the Is F tails the DIY out there is spot on and makes install a breeze so I would follow that if you purchase the Is F tails.

Very nice! I just picked up a set of AP2 for my 08 is250. It looks like it sticks out just a tiny bit, now I'm a bit nervous cause I don't have the gfx rear lip. I tend to pound it in with a mallet as far as it will allow me to. Any comments or tips for my ap2's to look flush with the bumper? Espcally harder without having a gfx lip.

pounding it in with a mallet wont work as the issue is that the pipe on the stock muffler is to long. The only way to get it to sit right would be to measure the difference and cut the pipe coming out the stock muffler.....remember measure twice cut once.
