Default Bluetooth audio troubles

Hello everyone! Ok here is my problem I have a 2012 Is350 with Nav. I have my phones registered to the car to play audio via bluetooth. But at times my gf drives my car and she has to manually switch the audio from trying to connect to my phone to her phone even when I'm not in the car and vice versa.

Is there a way to just have bluetooth on on my phone and when I walk in it detects which phone it is and auto connects. I know that in my parents RX they do not have this trouble the car automatically connects to the device that has bluetooth on.

No, because what would happen if you are driving and she is in the passenger seat, it would not know what to do. So you have to manually do it... as far as I know

That nav system treats the Bluetooth audio players and phones as 2 separate things. I'm guessing it connects to the phone portion of the Bluetooth fine when you switch drivers. You will always have to switch the audio portion when switching drivers. I suggest one of you unpair your phone as an audio player and use the USB to play audio instead. This will eliminate much of the headache.

It is the exact same way on my Wife's 14' Chevy Impala LTZ. It will automatically connect to her phone when she gets in. But if i drive it without her in the car, I have to manually go in and select my phone for streaming audio or phone calls. I have not had a different experience with any other units either.

This is correct. The car will automatically connect to any of the 4 configured phones that are present. If there's more than one present, It seems to try them in order and connect to the first one it finds. This is for the phone only though. For the audio 'portable player', you can only have two devices and it always tries to connect to the one it was last connected to. So you have to manually change the audio device which is annoying.

There seems to be 2 connection methods for the audio bluetooth: 'From Vehicle' and 'From Portable Player'. The default is 'From Vehicle'. If you can get the 'From Portable Player' connection method to work, I would think it could switch automatically. I get an error when I change it to 'From Portable Player'. Is anyone using this connection method?
