Default buying a 06 IS250 AWD 170k mile lexus tonight.

Im buying this car off my friend. I have performed front brake repairs to this vehicle for him and when i test drive it to check my repairs it seemed mechanically sound.

The details. The car has a clean title. It is a silver 2006 IS250 AWD with black interior. It has 170k miles on it but that doesn't scare me as these cars seem to hold up well from the little research ive done.

So heres my main concerns. It has a O2 code possibly and cylinder misfire code. Im guessing new plugs and coils will fix the misfire. Also, the windshield defrost door flap is stuck closed. Does anyone have simular issues? If so any and all help/advise is welcome. I pick up the car tonight

The misfire can be due to carbon build up and there's a recall call on it I had my piston replaced at 80k miles free of charge

Ive been reading about that and im pretty sure that TSB has been completed by this mileage but I will call the dealer to confirm. From what ive read that recall is only in affect for 9 years. Is this true?
Also, where can i find a good service manual for this car? I wish the manual company Bentley made Lexus manuals. They are great.

Any suggestions on the heater vent door for the defrost? Is it a fuse maybe? A servo motor that needs to be replaced?

Just called the dealer and they won't tell me if the carbon build up recall has been performed on my car without me bringing the car in for a diagnosis and they want to charge me $110.00 to look at the car. Does anyone know if i can contact Lexus USA to get to the bottom of this? I don't believe I should have to pay for a diagnosis if this TSIB#: L-SB-0068-11 is in fact the misfire issue.

There are a number of people with leaking oil and it will set you back $3000+ to fix.

If you have not paid for the car yet... and you are already talking about a lawyer... I think you have your answer on what you should do in this situation, walk away.. find another one

How much do you pay for this car? It seems like a lot of trouble coming ahead of you

Im a Ducati and Triumph Certified tech. I also have an associates in Automotive Technology so fixing the car will be no problem. I bought the car tonight. During the 45 minute dive I didnt experience any rough idle or sputtering or anything that felt like a misfire. Drove fine. It fired right up and idled smooth. Ill try to post pics tomorrow. I paid less than 5.5k is all ill say. I has some chips and scraches and I noticed shacking on the ride durring a 35 mph turn and felt vibration. Found that the LF lower outer control arm bushing is dry rotted pretty bad. Can you press a new one in?

Ill scan the codes tomorrow and post them on the forum.

your money... your problems

I always say, you cant put a price tag on a good time, but you can put one on piece of mind. I would be worried every time I started this thing up... seems like an impulsive buy.. but this is just my opinion
