I just received my letter in the mail today. Now the waiting game begins.

I finally got mine today.
darkdream,
Just leave your dash board exposed to direct sunlight a few hours, if it's sticky to your touch and gets shiny, that should be the problem right there.

Got mine too!!! Super excited! I love my car but I get in every day, look at the dash and am so disappointed! It's so sticky and even using a microfiber cloth leaves lint... It's awful! I called about 6 months ago and Lexus said to take it to the dealership and get photos. I never followed through because I read that while they may very well replace the dash, the labor wouldn't be included and it's pretty expensive. Have been seriously considering trading it in because of that issue. Can't wait to receive the follow up letter so we can get it in to be replaced!!

I drove my IS like less than 600 miles last year so I will check it out this summer. So it the plastic made form a new formula? If not then I will not have mine replaced since there is no problem so I rather not have rattles from installation of all the panels.

I left my car exposed in 105 degrees weather in the sun and it doesn't happen. I have a 08 IS350.

But my dash gets scratched easily. So it doesn't seem like I qualify for the replacement.

You could just say your dash gets sticky when it is very hot. It is unlikely they would wait for a day that it is 100+ degrees with high humidity to test it out.

Geez! Less than 600 miles a year? You just back it out of the garage and pull it in again? Anyway, as far as the rattling problem, when they do mine, I'll buy the mounting clips and ask them to replace the ones in there since they have to remove those anyway.

105 degrees and it doesn't happen? Man, you must have a dash with the new material already. I left mine just an hour exposed to direct sunlight and it starts getting sticky to the touch and becomes shiny already and the weather was only 78 degrees that day.

But my car is a 08 though. Maybe my dash is made in a different plant.

Maybe I should try to heatgun the dash and maybe see if anything happens?

You can try but be careful otherwise it will ignite and burns not just...melts.

I have a very late year 2008, and it doesn't have the melting dash issue.

Any idea how long Lexus usually takes to get parts ready?

I didn't get my letter but I have 06 IS350. I am the 2nd owner but about 4 or 5 years ago I first started to complain about my door panels, because they were becoming super sticky and coming off on my clothes. Then later my dash began to have the same issue. I contacted Lexus just last week because I still haven't received my letter. The lady mentioned that I should receive the first letter by the end of Feb. Then once they have enough parts assembled they will send a 2nd letter out to notify the owners to contact there local dealers for the work to be done. The lady on the phone mentioned with certain model/years they will be replacing more than the dash, as in my case. She mentioned they have the pics from the dealer but will most likely be replacing all my door panels and my dash. I live in Miami area so the heat is a huge factor to my issues. I did my best to take care of it with the extra dark tint and the Sun Visors along with treatments to the panels and dash but still pretty bad.

Finally got my letter this past weekend. I have an 07. My dash isn't so bad compared to others. I have maybe 2 small glossy areas that get sticky when it's 90+ degrees outside. I wonder if Lexus will still replace it?

Anybody here from Cali (Bay Area) with a pretty bad dash?
