IS - 2nd Gen (2006-2013) Discussion about the 2006+ model IS models

Looking at an IS 250, looks like the carbon recall was done, does this look good?

This work was done at 57500 miles and the car now has 57550 miles on it, so they literally JUST did the work. Good thing? Great thing? Or worrisome thing? Isnt that a little bit low of miles for the carbon issue to happen? I thought it was usually closer to 100k.

It seems that carbon buildup could happen at any mileage.

My 2008 IS 250 had the rebuild done at 50,782 miles. I bought it with 52,556 a couple of months after the rebuild. It has run strong and has had great gas mileage since I have owned it. It's a great car and I am really happy with it.

The carbon build-up heavily relies on the fuel used and the previous owners driving style. Slow inner-city driving will more quickly build-up carbon deposits than those that beat on their with many WOT pulls and HWY miles. FULL heat cycles also help with issue.

Lexus warranties this motor work; so I'd not worry about it.

I recently bought an 06 IS 250 that had the ZLA recall performed. I am unclear on the carbon build-up issues. Once the ZLA recall is done to replace pistons/seals is it a one-time fix for the carbon build-up? Or is carbon likely to reaccumulate over time and require more service in future?
