Default Aftermarket Audio

I'm new to the whole aftermarket audio and wanted to know what are some things that I should change in the car. I have the ML stereo in the car now, but many of the speakers are blown and need to be changed. So, I thought this was a good time to upgrade my audio. Thanks for the help.
