IS racing seatbelts with stock seats
I'm currently in the market for a 3 point harness racing seatbelt (req. for my local auto cross) and need some advice. Has anyone ever put them in before with stock seats? I've seen them before with some Recaro seats but never stock seats... Does anyone have any pictures of them? Any help will be awesome!!
These are what I was looking at

I could be wrong, but for autocross you should be fine with your oem seatbelt, as long as it functions correctly. I guess it could also depend on what class category your car fits into. I'm in Stx bc I have a few mods. The majority of people racing in autox use their stock seat belts, including myself.
I would suggest asking someone racing autox where your at for clarification. I Run in AZ

Generally, Gville is right. If you're serious about this though, Schroth makes the only 4 point that is really considered "safe." I'm not positive this is the model you'd want, so you may need to dig a little. They make one that attaches to the rear seat belt points for the shoulder straps, the waist belt uses the stock front mechanism.

Unless you want to go all out with a proper harness bar and/or rear roll bar, I'd stick with the stock belt though. Get a CG lock (http://www.cg-lock.com/ you can find them on Amazon). Then put something on the seat to stop you from sliding around. I've used some of that stuff that you line shelves or drawers with, and it helps a lot and is a lot less expensive than new belts.
And don't buy safety stuff on ebay unless you are sure it's legit. It is your well being and possibly life we're talking about.

The below is why I mentioned the harness bar. But Ranger above did bring up a good point; you can find harnesses that can attach the child safety archer points up on the rear deck. That would probably let you be within that 10 degree of safety for the strap going over the shoulders.

Thanks for all the input you guys it has been very helpful! I came across these http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NZOISW/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/191-3522692-7933029
Which are certified. But still confused on where exactly everything connects to without a hardness bar? I think, but not sure that they hook into the back seats somewhere?

Gville is right again. The angles on belts and their mounting hardware are things that get overlooked all the time, yet are incredibly important. Regarding harness bars. They are basically guides for the belts, to keep them at the appropriate angles while using proper mounting points. Your belts should not be attached to harness bars. In the event of a crash, they are not necessarily strong enough to hold the belts, and therefor you, in place.
