RPM drop after letting off gas
Hey all,
I just purchased a 2007 IS250 AWD a couple months ago. The problem I'm having is that 100% of the time I let off the gas pedal, the RPM will drop around 500-700 and I'll feel a sudden "jerk" in the car. It will only drop for a second and then RPMs will go back up to where it was before the drop. It's started to get cold here, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I've only started to notice the issue recently, but ever since I've discovered it, I can feel/notice it every time. The car only has 65k miles on it. I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can fix this or if anyone has dealt with this before. If I can't find a fix then I might have to go to the stealership next week.

If you are talking about idling then its normal. average idle is around 650 rpm. Every time your radiator fans kicks in or any other electronic load on the battery will cause that. Sudden minor/major electric load will cause rpm go up and down.

No, I'm talking about when I'm driving and let off the gas because I've reached the desired speed, the RPM will drop by 500-700 for a second and then jump back to the same RPM before the drop. It happens 100% of the time.

Today was in the 50s and it didn't happen the entire time I was driving. So it seems like it might be something that only happens when it's cold. From the research I've been doing people say this happens to theirs when it's cold out as well. I guess it just doesn't seem "normal" to me.

Xyi, I don't know if this is any peace of mind, but mine does this as well. I was so worried when I first noticed it, but I noticed it didn't happen if the temperature was warmer than 35. None of my other cars did this, so I'm still not used to it.
