Default Help Transmission problem

My lexus is250 started shifting slow into drive taking almost 3 seconds to finally get into drive and shifting slowly from 1st gear to 2nd gear.

Tried disconnecting the battery no results.
No lights on the dashboard either.

I understand your reluctance to pay stealership prices but on a modern electronically governed transmission like the IS250 6 speed, you don't want a "Johnny come AAmco" screwing it up.

dealer did not find anything wrong and could not get a code. Got told about a local lexus mechanic with experience so i called him up he thinks it might be a dirty trans oil filter or maybe some seals. hes gonna test the car today and il drop it of next tuesday for repair prob.

Scary that the dealer couldn't figure it out. How is the independent guy diagnosing the problem? Or is he just going to throw some parts at it? Try to get a sense if he's SURE that's what the problem is.

Probably checked the fluid. I know people think the fluid is not serviceable but it is. The OP has 110K miles of which some//many are spirited driving. Probably dirty fluid.

All of my Toyota's have the same WS transmission fluid and I start changing at 85K miles.
