Road Trip/Moving from NYC to Houston
So I will be moving from New York to Texas next weekend. Spent some time living in Connecticut before, then came back to New York.
I will be driving my IS350 with 121K. Have kept up with all maintenance, oil changes, etc..Still drives well and pulls hard
Got the car at 105K, since I've had it, I've changed 4 tires(potholes in NYC), alternator, battery, spark plugs, pcv filter, front brakes/rotors, and tpms sensors
The only negative I see thus far is the valve cover gasket leaking very slightly from the driver side, almost unnoticeable to most, and the tensioner making a slight noise, does not affect driveability at all
Water pump has no leaks and is in good condition. Front Tire 7/32, Rears 8/32
I am going to have it looked over by a mechanic and a fresh oil change for good measure
I have experience driving from NE to NY, GA to NY and vice versa, GA to TX and vice versa, NV to CA and vice versa, and CT to NC and vice versa, so I know the roads, speed traps in VA, etc..(All done in rentals or other peoples car)
With all that being said, Is driving in its present condition 1700+ miles with one overnight stop in Georgia a good idea or should I reconsider?
I'm sure there are many others out there who have been in similar situations, if not the same, and I would like your feedback and advice.
Will be leaving 1/9
Thanks

I can't input you on long distance driving in a Lexus. The only recent long driving I did in a Lexus was from LA to Palm Springs which is about 2 hour drive in California. If it makes you feel any better I do have experience driving interstate also. I drove almost 2 days and 1 night from CA to TN and Vice Versa in a Honda Accord 98 with over 150k. No problem except that I had a flat tire while in New Mexico and needed to use a spare. Bought a brand new one at a local tire shop.
So pretty much I don't see any problem with you doing interstate driving. You done all the major work for it to drive fresh again. I had no problem driving for 2 hours. So you won't have any problem also driving for 1 Day. Just make sure you get some rest break.

It's the lone star state..................that's about it. Lol. I've been to H-town MANY of times cause
I was stationed 2hrs away from there, I had a blast. Man drive your ryde out there, don't worry. Do your oli change, before, and after you'll be set.
