Default Think I have a universal joint on its way out

So I've been getting some loud clicking noise coming from the rear passenger side wheel well. I think it's a universal joint. Is this common for these cars??? Any info would be greatly appreciated !!

Default load noises

normally cv joints makes sounds when turning, louder when turning from a dead stop. and are normally on the front wheels. if your hearing a growling type noise around the 35 - 45 mph range its a good chance is a bad wheel bearing. when does the noise occur? at what speed? U can jack up the rear end and place the car in drive and place a stethoscope or a long screw driver onto the hub and listen and compare both sides to try and hear some sort of grouling sound.

Not very common on the rear wheels. If it's an AWD, it would have cv joints on all 4 corners, and the fronts are the ones that go out because they get bent to more extreme angles regularly while turning. The rears stay more or less straight, and are not as prone to failure, but not to say they can't go bad. It's gonna be hard to diagnose too. You'd have to put the entire car on 4 jack stands, pop it into gear and see if you can hear anything. This usually doesn't work well though because the suspension will be at full droop, not at the position it is when the weight is on the wheels. This will negate an sounds you would hear. I would suspect a wheel bearing before a cv joint for sure. Jack up that wheel you think is making the noise, put a hand at the 12 oclock and 6 oclock positions, and see if you can push/pull opposite directions and see any play. Then check again at the 3 and 9 oclock positions. This would indicate a bad wheel bearing usually.

I always noticed play in those cv joints when I would back up, and then put the car into drive. It would make a pretty good click when switching directions. Other than that it's pretty tough to diagnose one of those

OP, are you on stock suspension? These AWD models seems to have more CV issues whether lowered or in stock form when compared to the RWD models. Sounds like a CV joint issue to me.
