Hello everyone,

I just notices an extra knock in the engine of my 2006 IS350.
The Camshaft recalls and all other recalls are done.

update, this is a better video of the knocking... engine was warm.
It did stop and did not knock today....

It sounds some what normal to me. Does it run fine? Any codes stored in the ecu?

The knock went away, it runs fine and not codes. I think this is the 2nd time I have heard the knock at idle.

Was it on a cold startup?

Mine kind of sounds like that, i think the noise is normal. Our engines almost sound like diesels.
I miss the quiet engine of my is300

The ticking is normal, but there doesn't sounds like another noise in there. Could be a failing water pump; the WP is the most notorious failure item on the 2IS unfortunately. Have you had your WP replaced before?

The camshaft recall was done at 100k miles and waterpump was replaced then. I will double check.
It happened twice so far that I noticed.
it is not knocking now.

Starting the car, white smoke blowing out of the tailpipe and eventually goes away, along with a loud hammering or clacking sound from the top of the engine, no matter if in idle or revving, knocking is the same. Any clue where I should look to fix this issue? Thanks ☺

You should probably start a new thread with your issues to get better help tailored towards your specific problem. Also post it in the ES forums, not the IS forums.

Is the "white smoke" sweet smelling? How is your oil? Does it look milky? Might be a head gasket issue if any of the above is true.
