Can anyone recommend a car insurance company that will replace parts with OEM instead of the industry standard non-OEM? I tend to check out different insurance companies every few years to see if I can get better quotes, but I can never find a list of insurers that do OEM parts. The only one that I found so far is Chubb.
Any input would be greatly appreciated and if this would go better in a different section feel free to move the thread mods.
Are you guys referring to the "collision" and "comprehensive" policy? I thought whatever is being damaged will be replaced using the same OEM equivalent parts? Damn I did not know they can use cheaper aftermarket stuffs.
I work at an auto bodyshop and state farm is one of the best that uses oem parts..whatever u do dont get allstate! They are the worse at using capa parts and used/recycle parts..
Awd250 you are wrong. I had Allstate and never had a problem, always replaced with OEM parts, like I said never had a single problem with Allstate for as long as I can remember.
Have you spoken directly with any insurance companies, often they will offer a policy that enforces the use of OEM parts at an additional fee.
Might be worth checking into.
Jeff
This is good advice, I will definitely keep this in mind as I look around.

I haven't contacted them yet, sadly they don't have a quick way to get a quote and I hate dealing with agents unless I have to.

This relates to both. If you're at fault then the industry standard is to fix your car with non-OEM parts to save money. Some will even use junk yard parts too. If someone hits you, then their insurance company is supposed to pay out for OEM parts. If they don't, then you can take them to small claims court.

Did you get parts replaced on a new car? When the car is new enough there won't be non-OEM parts to replace with, so they will always replace with OEM parts.
Does anyone have OEM coverage with any major insurance companies? I'd like to get a ball park of what type of increase I'd be looking at.
OPTIK, thank you for your information. I never hit anyone nor be at fault at any accident so I did not know about this non-OEM thingy. What I know is that every time someone hits me, their insurance pay all the repairs with OEM parts. Anyways, it is good to learn something new
Thats is true on cars that are fairly new..but on most case insurance companies will try to use aftermarket parts to save cost..
But u can also request that all damage parts b replace with oem..

No problem, always have to be careful when dealing with auto insurance companies.. they try to keep costs low so it's more money in their pocket.
