Default Question for F-Sport exhaust owners

This question is for those who own F=Sport exhausts:

I am looking to buy this exhaust for my 2IS, and found a great deal. The seller sent me photos, and there appears to be rust on the muffler, where the weld marks are on the edge of the muffler can. The exhaust is "10 months old".

My question is, is it normal to see a bit of brass / light rust ? Should I be concerned?

Thanks everyone

If you give the exhaust a good cleaning , it should be all good, looks about normal to me though
Its stainless steel and shouldn't rust ,
I have the same exhaust . non logo right ?

now the exhaust being 10 months old to him , is he the 2nd owner? or third owner?
if its a good deal , jump on it ,

Hmm ok. Yeah, it's the non-logo exhaust. When he told me there was a bit of rust I was a bit apprehensive. I just don't know if its normal to see this type of 'wear and tear' with mufflers?

What would be considered a 'good deal'? He is the first owner

Vic island? I got it for 850 with the logo 10/10 with receipt its like a year old. So i guess the 2nd gen one should be cheper.. No logo is the first gen one. I coulda got one for 700 but I cheaped out lol. I thought the no logo ones are like 4 - 8 years old.

What a coincidence, talked to ya re. the S2K and the ISx50 exhausts on revscene not too long ago lol.

Yeah, local guy selling for $600. He said he bought it a year ago from the dealership, but i really didn't expect that much wear and tear after just a year... perhaps I'm being unrealistic. You on the Club Lexus vancouver FB group?

If it does not have a logo it's not 10 months old. He is lying. I bought mine with no logo in 2009 or 2010. I'm thinking rust is not common and I would stay away myself. GL

its's not a bad deal for that exhaust if its around 500ish, first question would be where you are from thou; because the rust may be there due to snow and salty roads. some tlc on it should take it right off and the dude is obviously lieing about how old it is, that's like the early gen fsport exhaust..same one I have

all metal will rust sooner or later, stainless or not, galvanized or not

not sure about your west coast weather but here eastern-central in Toronto, one winter and the exhaust would look just like your photo (or worse)
