Don't cash the check if your having issues with your car, im pretty sure after you cash that check they are unliable for any damages past that point. I could be wrong but that's how some insurance company works when you cash a check then give you. I got one for 18 bucks i haven't cashed it yet but i have never ever had any type of acceleration problem. 18 bucks won't even fill my tank up half way lol. I guess i could use it toward a new set of tires.

This was for the unintended acceleration class action lawsuit. My understanding is that checks are related to money that wasn't claimed by people it actually affected. I got one for $23 a few weeks ago, but it was connected to my Scion not my new IS.
