Default Concern about my super sport tires

Hey guys so a couple weeks ago I took off my super sports and put on my winter tires. When I seen the tires I am kind of surprised, they look so bald. The tires only have about 5k miles on them and they look so worn out. I bought them this spring from tire rack. I know they are summer tires and shouldn't have much thread. Don't have pics now but will try to post later. Also there was a small nail inside the tire, should I leave it in there? It never gave me any trouble. I am just concerned about how bald the tires look, they never gave me any trouble and I always had great traction even when wet outside..

Pics would be great, and some more detail (is there camber wear, tread depth left, etc)

There summer tires there not gonna have that much look to them. Tread are different from let's say all season where the treads are deeper.

I'd suggest you get a tire depth gauge to check. They are pretty cheap. I think the super sport start at 10/32" tread. I'm kind of guessing, but after 5k miles I'd think you should still see 7/32 or better under normal driving. If you are hard on them, then less is possible. As mentioned check the wear pattern also. From there, I'd get the alignment checked. Particularly toe.

There is something wrong if your tires are bald (it will be smooth on the inner portion of the tire). I have use super sports on both of my cars and they last much longer than that. I have a friend with a Porsche 911 turbo with PSS and they will only last 5k miles, but the turbo has a really aggressive setup and much more power.

Need a pic to show the wear pattern. If wearing evenly, then perhaps the toe/caster is off.

I agree...I had a set on my GS350 and got 30k out of mine and they still had at least 5k worth of tread...

Probably some inside wear that some figs bushings would take care of? That or its some misalignment issue.
Surprised no one has said anything about the nail... Get a patch and plug kit for it and not just a plug as most places will do. You can do this either now or before you remount it after winter. Just make sure it is not leak leaking air during the winter. For the $10-20 id just get it done now.
