Clutch in 250/350
Hello all,
I'm based in the UK and have a 2007 auto 250. As they don't sell the 350 over here (no idea why not!) I'm looking at a supercharger.
However before I look at it, does anyone know if the clutch on the 250 model is the same as the 350?
Just don't want to kill the clutch by adding 100 horses!
Thanks

Thanks. I didn't realise the 250 was only manual over there.
I'll have to do some more digging then. In all honesty I don't want to replace it if I don't have to. No point spending the cash if it is the same as the 350.

^Again, there are no IS350 models with a manual transmission/clutch. So either you can chance it and hope the clutch holds the additional power of the supercharger, or do the right thing and upgrade to a SPEC clutch : http://specclutchsuperstore.com/is25...KsGhoCMonw_wcB

Thanks.
As mentioned though, I have an auto (paddle/tiptronic) 250. My thoughts were to find out if the 250 auto had the same clutch as the 350 auto.
I have emailed Lexus to check if this is the case. If it is not the case then I will most definitely look to go aftermarket, however if it is the same then I would be happy to keep the same one.

Automatic transmissions don't have a clutch, they have a torque converter bolted to the flexplate (ring gear), there are fluid clutches inside, but that's not typically what someone would refer to as a clutch.
I am not aware of any aftermarket torque converters out there for the IS250/350, that said the IS250 and IS350 are not the same.

Given we have a handful of members on these boards that are boosted I don't believe any of them have had to do any transmission work. Maybe they'd like to chime in here. Maybe I'm wrong.
Anyways, you're going to have a hell of a time sourcing information/building a kit. Its not going to be an easy task. I think the last thing you should be researching right now is anything trans related.
