I got sideways
I got sideways going through an intersection this morning… completely on accident. But can I say it was freakin awesome lol. I was at a 4way and the lights were flashing red. Everyone was being patient and then I ease into the intersection on my turn… next thing I know this guy in a utility truck is coming right at me on the left hand side while I’m turning left. So naturally I punched it to move out the way… and there it was… the rear end broke loose into some kinda transcendental controlled roaring slide. It was amazing!
I have had cars and trucks break loose before on turns but nothing like this. It was very controlled almost as if I knew what the heck I was doing. After realizing I was all clear and the car straightened out the next immediate thought was great where is the cop at now… had to post something just because it was such an awesome feeling for being an accident. On surface streets I tend to play with the sport shift. This morning I had that and the ect on. Only actual mods are the Takeda intake and H&R springs right now. I did shift from 1, to 2, and then straightened out going into 3 before getting to the 40 mph speed limit. Gears 1 and 2 through the turn… huge grin lol
I’m not recommending anyone to start looking for intersections to swing their cars through. Honestly what happened was 100% on accident. Knowing my luck if I tried to do this on purpose the results would be a disaster.

Good thing your tire were warm by then, otherwise you could have been all over the place. I was leaving work last winter, so my tires were cold and so was the pavement. I have to cut cross 3-lanes to get to my lanes to continue on my route home. With only moderate throttle, I hit the dusty/dirty center "emergency" or merge lane and immediately the back-end skated out from under me. I ended up crossing into the on-coming traffic lanes, but thank God there was no one coming at that time. ABS on cold tires is a recipe for trouble; the car just doesn't stop!

Something like this happened to me the first time I drove my SC in the rain at night trying to make a light, It was neither expected or fun. I had heard of it swinging it's tail a bit but geez, that woke me up lol. Glad to know that you had control over it and enjoyed it!

I had the sc400 for a few months... couple nights driving home in the rain were def unsettling for me. But it was also a 92 with pretty much all original everything as far as suspension. Never had the guts to let that one slide out.
More like sideshow waiting to go bad... I don't trust myself to get down like that.
**** total side note **** I just got home from meeting up with this guy that has 2 P3 10s in a box built for them and wired to 2 ohms. Box didn't fit in the IS so I had to pass. It was hard to turn that down but I think one good 10 will be plenty. Gonna stick with the 10w6v3. Anyone interested it's on craigslist out of stockton for $200. The box alone was $180. It fits our trunks just not flush with where most put their setups. If i were single and no kids it would a been mine.

Ha! Same thing happened to me but on a parking lot inside a mall.
As i was going out the mall through the parking spots, i had to turn and there was water on the smooth concrete surface of said parking lot.
As i was turning and my 350 decided to go sideways. As you it was completely accidental but it felt like it was on purpose, i felt on control of the car while it was sideways. I wasn't afraid.
It was fun to see the poeple and cars coming towards me stop to see the show

Otherwise she handles great in the day time for those lil drifts.
