You never NEED a camber kit. Camber really is your wheels horizontal alignment to the ground. I always run natural camaber (NO kit) which depending on how low you are can wear tires faster than an OEM spec. Camber kits just lets you correct to OEM spec and you can save tire wear

2is actually really good natural camber IMO what ever height you lower to. camber kit for me is just make a wheel/tire set up to clear or not basically

So are you guys saying that the IS 250 has alot room for adjustment? I was reading about general lowering and read that every inch can throw off camber almost 2x a degree. As such, you could wear out tires very quickly. I have the same concerns. I want to lower my IS 250 by 2 inches assuming 3 inches is slammed. Lets get opinions. I would rather pay up front for camber kit then be replacing tires every 10,000 miles. a set of tires is going to 800.

That measurement varies by car IMO. Is it true YES it does wear tires a little bit faster but but also increasingly assist with the way your car handles. 1 inch shouldn't throw it too much off OEM spec. 2 inches you can get away with out camber kits, 3 inches, if you want to save tires, I would advise camber kit. But your car would look pretty cool though with a little bit of camber.

I would go check out a few build threads and see what people have done before you buy.

Thanks for the information. Doesn't the requirement for a camber kit also depend on the tire/wheel setup as well? The amount of offset?

Generally speaking, if you lower more than 2 inches and want to save your tire, then a camber kit is recommended. However, if you are lowering only 1-2 inches, you don't really need one.

I think some people who slam their cars buy camber kit to add even more negative camber to look cool rather than to save tires lol.

Bro when I got off work, 2230hrs, I was driving, slammed civic, home and noticed my rims hittin the markers on the highway. NOT the tire........the rim. I pulled over and looked at the tires. One had no air in it. I said "F" it "I'mma drive home anyways. LMFAO. Guess what......................
The tire stayed intact and made it all the way home. LOL. LOL. Dood I was like ohhh hells yeah! OK i have to admit I was driving about 55-60 but who cares, at those hours of the night nobody's on the highway so I was cool. Next day looked and the inside of tire was shot bald. I had a camber kit on it but hittin all the bumps and crap it's gonnna become off here and there, camber. Once you hit a pothole it's curtains. It's over. I told the o'lady what happened and she laughed cause it's happened before.
Now driving on HRE's there's no way in hell I'mma do somethin like that.

Yo Sffd103 what's doin down bro?!

Yup but I was Slammed on 20's tucking rim and camber arms maxed negative. Those were 3 piece wheels too but it wasn't too bad. It's the price you gotta pay to be static but buying tires that are in good condition otherwise sucks. It's kinda dangerous though.
