Default Replacing non-AFS halogens w/ AFS HIDs: Possible?

Hey all,

Proud new owner of an '06 IS350. I got a great deal on the car, but it was missing a couple options I would have liked. One of those options was the HID/AFS you'd get with the luxury package, which this car doesn't have.

I've seen a lot of info here on switching out headlight assemblies for HID, but one question I couldn't find a clear answer on: If you're starting with a car that didn't come with AFS, how difficult is it to get that feature working with a HID/AFS upgrade?

Anyone have any success stories? What does that process entail?

Thanks for all the great advice so far. Loving this forum.

I have never seen anyone add AFS to a car that didn't come with it. It can certainly be done with enough work, but you're in for some... "fun". You need the sensors, computer and headlights, and then you need to add the wiring to the car to plug them all in.
