Currently searching for tires for the upcoming winter. Live in indiana and don't want to purchase snow tires as we only have a month or two where we have decent amounts of snow. I have summer Michelin PSS on my summer set up and am looking to purchase the Yokohama Advan All-Season tires or the Goodyear Eagle All-Season tires. If anybody has any personal experience with either of these tires or know of any pros/cons of each please advise accordingly. Have searched all over the web for reviews of these Yokohama tires and there are basically none available.

But I can't wait to replace them because they are extremely loud. I'm guessing they may be less loud when new but not for long. I'm actually looking to get a set of Hankooks when I'm ready to replace them. If you haven't already, check Tire rack reviews. Many times they can be close to accurate..

Yea I have seen the reviews for the Goodyear but there little to none at all for the Yokohama advan all seasons

I have the Yoko YK580 and love them. Very quite, good performance in the rain and dry. They say they are good in light snow but I haven't tested that yet. Not the cheapest tire but very good all around tire. Plus the site below has free shipping and no tax.

I would recommend Continental Extreme Contact DWS as well. They are very comfortable and quiet. They perform superior in the rain. Not sure about snow because I never drive them on snow in CA lol.

Per the email we have been chatting about so others can reference:

My thought is that both are pretty good tires in the wet, dry and performance handling. The Yokohama all-season tires generally have a history of not being great performers in the snow. It has not been out long enough to get any real solid feedback to see if they have curbed this with the current tire. If winter traction is at all a concern, I would go with the Goodyear.

For what it's worth, I would second the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. It will be a much better performer in snow than either of these tires.

i have 2 types of DWS on my other cars and they do perform pretty decently in snow compared to the other tires i have had. They also last really long (then again it is on a less powerful car and the suspension is not as aggressive as the lexus)

Wow I'm kind of amazed by how many others like DWS too. I wish it snows in CA so I can test how good it is. I know it works superior in the rain and I call it the best rain tire lol.

Is the DWS a soft tire? I want to try it out, but need the most pothole protection cause of lovely NYC roads

DWS can take a beating. I have been running it on bad bad California roads and drive it hard on autocross. It is still solid as steel. The sidewall though is less stiff than summer tires so it doesn't handle as good as summer tires but it is very comfortable and quiet.

My DWS are softer than the OEM Bridgestones. One raised manhole took out 2 DWS already...do get road hazard if you go for DWS.
