Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum so hello!
The trunk of my IS350 was filled with water! where the spare tire is. I drained it of course and it was not wet anywhere and I figured out it was coming from inside the metal area of the left side and traveled into the spare tire space.
The taillight on the left side's seal was not good and was pretty open compared to the very tight seal on the right taillight. (THANK GOD, the ECU is in that area)
So if I remove the taillight assembly, what do you guys recommend for sealing it up before putting the taillight back in?

MiralS350, if you know for sure where the leak came from; you can buy the all weather silicon seal in black or white to match up the area where you seal it and try to patch up the hole. Make sure you read the instructions before getting one to fit the type of surface you are going to apply on. Most auto parts stores carry them. If you are not sure where the leak came from, you need to remove the trunk liner and get inside the trunk and close it and have someone from the outside spray or run the water with the garden horse to determine the leak area. Make sure the person outside will let you out when you finish> , or pull the inside level to let yourself out.

^Bingo! To pinpoint where the source of the leak is remove everything and jump inside with a flashlight, while having someone hose off the car in that area. Did that in the Honda hatchback; ended up coming in from the passenger side tailight gasket. So I used black silicone and sealed it up good. No problems thereafter.
