Default Issues with iPhone 6, iOS 8, & USB connection

I only use my iPhone with the God-awfully slow USB charger in my IS.

One problem I have had with multiple iPhones (although it seems to have happened more with the 5s & 6) is that it will often say it cannot read the device...check to see if it's operating correctly. I then have to unplug it and replug back in. Sometimes once....sometimes a couple times.

So, ever since the iOS 8 update with my 5s (and this also applies to my new iPhone 6 I just bought), my steering wheel controls and radio buttons almost NEVER WORK for changing songs!!! Ugh!!

When I press the button to forward to the next song it drops down from the top of the screen like normal to display that it is skipping to the next song....but it does absolutely nothing.

When it DOES work, I ALSO have to push Play ON the iPhone as it will not start playing automatically when I select the USB option on the radio.

i have not hooked my iPhone up as a BT device, but did use it in a rental car I had for a business trip last week. It did the same thing on that Buick when using it as a USB (no song skipping control)....but when in BT mode, everything worked as it is supposed to.

Anyone have any issues like this?

Sorry to hear about your issues, I have had no problems at all with my Iphone 6 and my 2013 IS. May I ask what year your IS is?
