Default Looking At Is350 And Have ?

I currently drive a 2006 Acura TL. I am happy with the car but would like something with a little more power and I really like the body style of the IS350, plus they are rear wheel drive. If I get one I plan to run 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the rear with 235/35-19 and 265/35-19 which shouldnt be a problem from what I have read. My question is, have you guys seen or noticed or know of any known issues or problem with any certain years from 2006-2013 in the IS350, or anything I should be aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard. Is350's are pretty reliable. Known issues are water pump, cam gear rattle, and frozen touch screen nav. I personally had never encounter any but for the cam gear rattle. I changed the oil and it never came back. I suggest getting an 07 and up. The 06 has the pedal dance which you may find annoying to fully disengage the traction control.

Have you test driven an IS350 yet? If so, you'll not care about getting rid of that TL in a heartbeat!

Hi

I purchased my 06 IS350 back in may and havent regretted a thing. The car has plenty of power to have fun with, has a ton of standard features (i have and recommend the sport package) and has so far given me ZERO problens out of the 10k miles ive driven it. Ive only heard of very minor problems with IS350's but theyre mainly just annoyances if anything (speedo tach light dims out after a few years for example) but nothing that would render this car undrivable. Now the IS250 has a carbon buildup issue which is bad of course but being that they have different engines , the IS350 is both Faster and more reliable .

I love my car and wouldn't trade it for anything.... Yet jk. I was looking at C5 corvettes and a really nice 2005 STi before purchasing my car and as much as i loved the sporty coupe looks of a Vette or the awesome raw power you feel in the STi , i just COULD NOT get over there plain boring interiors. I wanted something i could drive everyday that was Fast, Reliable, relatively good on gas (I avg about 20 city and 28-30 highway) , and still be in total comfort for the days i wanna just cruise or relax. The IS350 was the ONLY option lol.

That being said i believe you cant go wrong with this car. Its a looker and im constantly complemented on it (most people dont believe its mine cuz im 2o and bought it with my own hard earned money) But in short DO test drive one and make sure it is for you. The car maybe fast but it doesnt FEEL like it. My brother sworn a friend with his maxima 3.5 would kill me... NOPE lol proved him wrong.

Anyway test drive first and be absolutely sure of what YOU want. Then make your decision. I love my car for ME not because of what others told me . When my brother found out that i didnt buy the STi , he thought i made the stupidest decision in the world and thar i was a complete idiot for not buying it. "Ha! whatever dude" i said. And now here i am a few months later and dont regret my decison one bit. The only things thats bothers me is that there are no power mods for this car worth mentioning but thats easily made up for with how easily it is to make this car even MORE beautiful. (check out the threads of members posting pics of their rides) . This is the car for me and i hope soon it will be the car for you too. Good luck with whatever you decide!!

Also make sure you dont skip out on a well optioned 2006 just because of the pedal dance. One week with mine and it became second nature. I swear i dont even realize im doing it half of the time lol

Is there any issues with certain mileage? Any major service needing done etc? I am hoping to find something with less than 80k. Any of you have a high mileage IS350? As for speed, its not why Im looking at it. I have another project for that. I do want something with a little more power than the TL though. And also after looking at a lot of pics, I think I may want 19x10 in the rear... maybe even some 20x10... I am running 19x8.5 on all corners on the TL now and the IS cars have a slightly bigger wheel opening...

^^The is350 will give you way more power then the TL. I have over 160k miles on mines and it doesn't burn or leak oil of any short. Just regular maintenance and it will tell you why lexus holds their reputation for luxury reliability.

Go for it man, 6 months since I bought mine and still enjoy getting in it everyday and driving no matter where it is. I put some super sports on mine and man I sometimes drive around the block a few times before parking at my house because of how much I love this car...
