Looking to buy '06 IS 350
Please don't flame me for a question that probably has answers on here. I am VERY pressed for time.
I bought my daughter an '06 IS 250 four weeks ago and someone blew a red totaling it last week. She got a concussion, but no blood or broken bones. She's back to 99% already.
I found what appears to be a good deal on an '06 350, private seller. I am going to take a look in the morning. Anything in particular I need to lookout for, checkout, verify, quirks etc.?
Her 250 was purchased from a CarMax type dealer and trusted sales person. I know the car was a one owner and thoroughly gone through, even sent to the Lexus dealer to get checked out. A great little car!!! I can't replicate the deal I had on that car, so I am trying to do the best I can with the insurance payout.
And, I know the 350 is a big step up in hp compared to the 250. My oldest is not a concern - the 14 and 15 year olds on the other hand, would never drive it....
Carfax is clean. 98,000 miles, $12,900.
Any guidance would be truly appreciated.

could be a great deal but could also be a disaster if it wasn't maintained because that is quite a low price for an is350. do your research and have lexus inspect it before purchasing.

Definitely check the history. $12,900 is quite low for that car with it's mileage.. Could be a steal, but do your homework to be sure. What options/trim package? Most similar cars in my area are listed for upwards of $17k............

Damn that is a very low price for an is350 with only 98k miles. Check to see if its been in any accidents. Is350 are pretty reliable. I have over 155k miles on mines and have yet to encounter the water pump issue or the touch screen issue. I did encounter the rattle noise but it was a hit and miss. It never came back after the first time it came.

As others have suggested run a Vin. Bit also check to see when the brakes were last serviced and that the tires are up to snuff. I had to replace both a month after getting mine. Do check all the electrical functions by running them through there paces like seats if motorized, heater etc.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks all.
I ran the VIN and there is a solid service history - four pages. The car has three owners including the current and certain services align well with sales. It appears a Lexus dealer has sold the car three times. Nine months ago it had tires, brakes, alignment, inspection etc at the local dealer.
There was a "dent repair" five years ago I would like to know more about. There were several NON WARRANTABLE OPERATION CODES, but none seemed to have any work associated with the codes - Maintenance Light maybe?
Appears to have been well cared for.
