the tool is like this but it has one head instead of two and it is smaller

Don't worry about breaking something while doing so . I can't really find a name for the tool used but it looks like a screwdriver but the head of it is twisted with some slope to grab

I would recommend going to workshop if you don't have such tool and not damage your dashboard like mine







This damage because I tried to use different method than the one using a tool to grab.
So you're saying we should NOT be pushing the clips down on the vents. Just use that special tool to pull it out?

IMO, you should pull out the whole unit if possible. If not, then pull out separately.

The two parts are designed to be separated with out breaking.

So by keeping the tabs up, we would be taking out the whole unit as one.

Pushing the tabs down, we would be separating the units?

Sorry, I have never done this but will when I install NAV unit
