I recently bought a Tacoma to serve as my daily driver rather than putting the mileage on my 2010 is350. Since the IS has been demoted to nice weather weekends. It had been sitting in the garage for two weeks and when I went to start it up yesterday, it threw a check engine light and a traction control light. After the rpms settled to the normal 650-750 rpms, it started vibrating and the rpms started fluctuating. I turned the car off and restarted, still had the lights, but the engine idled fine. So I reset the computer and the lights turned off and ran just fine.

Is this common among 350s after sitting for an extended period of time? I would think not. With winter around the corner and the car won't see the road with all the salt and sand, need some advise to see if I should take it to the dealership.

Also should add that after resetting the computer, it wouldn't start the first crank.

chances are its a misfire.... reset the ecu codes and you will be fine. for some reason that happens to my car too when i leave it for a while. what it was for me, was a coil pack going bad but not bad enough to cause a misfire every time. find the cylinder and you got your bad coil pack
