How good is the AWD in winter?

To be really happy - get the good snow tires and a dedicated set of rims. That makes swapping your winter and summer tires a snap. It is a waste to wear snow tires in the summer and they don't sound or feel as good as what you will want for your IS the majority of the year.

I'm using my 17" stockers as my dedicated winter/bad weather wheels. They're already doing the infamous Toyota wheel pitting/bubbling from salt. My 4Runner Limited 18" wheels were even worse. Right now I'm running Conti DWS's on them and will see how these handle this winter. I commute 45 miles 5 days a week one way into downtown Chicago from Northwest Indiana. Last year we were getting measurements in feet in NWI, and they're saying this year will be worse. We shall see but I'm looking fwd to it.
