The interior of my rear view mirror has black streaks all over it and was I wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Also, what causes the black streaks and is there a way to remove them?

The Auto dim feature of the mirror is deteriorating the glass.

There is no fix.

You can buy a new mirror from a dealer or internet

or you can use Radar-mirror.com and they will have you mail the mirror in, they will replace the glass and mail it back.

Thanks! How easy it to remove the mirror assembly from the windshield?

Also, do you know a good internet source to purchase a mirror? The dealer wants $800....

It is not terribly difficult. I haven't had a chance to dig into mine, but every mirror I have ever removed is pretty cut and dry.

Honestly, I would go the Radar-mirror route. I don't know if you can just get the mirror glass from lexus. Try Sewell Lexus parts if you are die hard on getting a brand new one.

Radar-mirror charges $99. I saw a post on here from someone and it appears they do good work. I am experiencing the same issue as you, just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. I am going the Radar-mirror.com route myself.
