2011 IS Oil Change - Oil Pan Bolt Leaking
Hi,
I've done countless oil changes but today was my first for my IS350. It's been a nightmare, first when I was done I put the o-ring in the wrong place for the filter and oil exploded everywhere. I bought a new filter put it on, started it seemed fine.
Now it appears its leaking from the oil pan plug. It's just a bolt, I don't see any washer or o-ring, is there suppose to be one? I know I had a tad too much oil in my car and am draining it of the excess but it's not a lot.
Seems to only leak when I drive.

Make sure that there is only one gasket on the drain plug. If they get stacked, it may also cause leaks.
My last oil change, I had forgotten about gasket that got seized onto the oil pan... I put the gasket back onto the oil drain bolt. I ended up with stacking up the gaskets. I only found out after my most recent oil change that I goofed.
Luckily I didn't have any leaks... Sometime the gasket end stuck together or at the pan and you think it fell off into the drain bucket.

but as others have said there's a crush washer (usually sold separate from the filter kit) you need replace each oil change.
