Default IS250 RWD to CT200H

Has anyone gone from an IS250 RWD to a CT200H?

If so, any regrets? The local dealer is willing to do a straight trade if I decide to exchange it, I just wanted to get a few more opinions before I make a decision.

Thanks in advance!

If you want a luxury Prius, go for it.

I was thinking about it for awhile since the is250 is a little under-powered for my taste and gets an "okay" mpg. Then I thought about how quiet the car would sound(I have an F-sport exhaust) and said nope.

If I had an F-Sport model, I'd consider keeping it, but that's not the case.

I had a 250 6 speed manual rear drive (now 350awd) but managed to convince my girlfriend to pick up a 2014 ct200h as she was looking for something efficient with a splash of luxury. The car overall is great especially for fuel consumption - I managed to hit a personal record 3.3L/100km on a 60km stretch (that's like 72mpg) with some fancy throttle feathering. It handles good, has fold down seats for some needed utility and more room in the rear than the IS. It's hard to compare the two as they two completely different classes of car. If you have specific questions, shoot me a pm. The biggest con I would have is its FWD and has a rather noisy CVT - albeit one of the quietest cvt's available. I might be kind of biased as I absolutely despise them lol. Also, you would be surprised at how decent the pick up is in sport mode too. Nothing to write home about but a lot more than what you would expect from a heavy car with less than 140hp. Lastly, I would say we consistently beat the combined 42mpg (usually around the 47-52mpg range) Hope this helps!

You must be a horrible driver to NEED an all wheel drive sedan... but hey, you're slower than a RWD and you spend more money on gas to have the SAME car.

I guess you're quite smart...

2010 IS250 for a 2011 CT200H.

That did help! I'm going to check it out this week, I found quite a few, the one that's a straight trade isn't the color that I want. I found a white one that's $3,000 more, but I'm sure it would have a better resale value.

Thanks again for your opinion, it's much appreciated!

OP, keep us posted on what you decide. I was looking at hatchbacks for utility and am considering the CT, especially since it can be had at a great price. Would most likely trade the IS for it.

Yeah... sure...
Once I have a day off, I'll go make a decision.

I've driven a Prius before and it's not as bad as most people made it sound, plus when $40 gets you 700KM per tank, you're laughing at the end of the day!
