Default Drivers Side HID turns on then off

on the 06, when you turn on the headlights, the drivers side HID will turn on for about a second then just cut off. You can turn off the headlights then toggle it on again and it will do the same thing, turn off after a second. Anyone else have this problem? Im heavily leaning towards ballast. If it was the bulb it wouldnt come on at all.

do new bulbs first. i thought it might be a ballast problem when it happened to me. i did new bulbs and the problem never came back again.

try that first before you go spend hundreds on a new ballast and that not be it(saw plenty FS threads on oem ballast because people did that first and it was just he bulbs)

Try testing the bulb with the passenger side.

thanks guys, swapped the bulbs this morning and the problem moved with the bulb. Thank god its not the ballast, thats a more annoying swap . So the OEM is Phillips D4S correct? I saw this one ebay, looks like the compatibility list says it does. Cheap fix

Yeah OEM HIDs are D4S.

I'd be careful with Phillips bulbs on eBay, the real ones retail for over $200.

Check out XenonDepot (CL vendor) for these bulbs. If you're interested I have a pair of GARAX 6000k D4S I'm willing to sell for cheap. Let me know

all the newer lexus do not use Philips anymore. they use Toshiba D4S.

Definitely can't go wrong with the xenon depot guys. Lots of options and can lead you in the right direction.

I replaced the bad bulb and its working now. The new bulb is significantly brighter and more briliant than the original one, now im thinking of swapping that one out

Had the same problem for a year. Then both of my bulbs starting doing it. Did some research on here and most said the xenodepot 5000k were the closest to OEM color. $110 shipped for the set and installed them last week. Drove around on the weekend and so far so good. Everyone says however that you do want to replace as a set or your color will be off. Like the problem you have.

Would have been a good time to grab 2 6000K bulbs from Xenon depot. Then grab some 6000K HID fogs to match! I got my fogs from China for like $30.
