Safelite auto glass
Would you pay the extra money to have your windshield replaced at Safelite? Safelite is going to cost me right around $400 and Genuine Auto Glass smaller chain glass shop is going to charge right around $250.

i just had my 2014 MDX windshield replaced by Safelite, it was through insurance so i didn't pay anything from my pocket. overall it was quick and simple, but i think one very important is use OEM same one from Lexus, make sure the LEXUS sticker is on the windsheld, don't use any other aftermarket brand.

This topic has came up before, and from what was posted I gather that each area of the country they will do things differently. If anything, call them up and demand either an OEM or Pilkington windshield. Safelite did my wife's Chevy within this last year; came to the house, did their job, no ill-fitting molding there-after. All is well.

This is like a Bizzaro thread. Most posts on CL re: SafeLite are them vs. OEM. I'd go SafeLite definitely.

We use Safelite as one of our vendors for insurance claims. Usually they can accomidate OEM glass if it's within reasonable cost. I helped a client a month ago order their windshield through Sewell discounted and Safelite installed it. Cost my client $50 deductible and allowed Safelite to use the windshield since it was almost the same as the other option.
Never cut corners on a windshield install regardless of who does the work. Most people don't realize that the windshields have been designed over the years to play an important role in the structual safety in the event of an accident. An improper install could change that into more of a hazard in an accident.

My co-worker had a safelite windshield installed. It looks distorted when you look at the vehicle from the side... there are vertical bend lines along the length of the windshield. If you currently have OEM glass look at the name below Lexus... that is the manufacturer of the windshield. Mine is AGC Automotive. There is usually less wind noise with OEM glass.
