Default Spark Plug Change At 42k Miles But Its An 2006?

Hey guys,
Rather than going through the trouble to pull the plugs and check them, do you recommend I change my plugs? It has 42,000 miles but an 06 so that makes it 8 years old.

Thanks

It's normally part of the 60k maintenance.

I would have to agree; the OE plugs I pulled out of my manufacturer-dated Aug '05 IS350 were in perfect condition and would have easily done another 60k. But either way, it's good preventative maintence no matter the mileage you're at.

I've kind of scoured the DIY spark plug change. How hard is it to change, looks like a lot of stuff has to be removed.

Unless you are going for the fancy new high tech spark plugs now then go for it. Otherwise it should be the regular iridium plugs @ 60k mi.

I have a similar issue with an '08 250 with 43K miles.
I thought the requirement was to have the plugs done at 60K miles or 6 years (I think). By the time I hit 60K miles that car will be at least 8 years old. If the carbon issue comes up before the car is 9 years old can Lexus deny liability to fix it since I did not do the plugs per the owner maintenance schedule?
