upgrading stock speakers
i've tried looking up to see if anyone has upgraded their stock speaker without adding an additional amp. no luck maybe i just suck at researching. but i did find that some people have the same complaint as me. our system lacks mid bass. have you guys heard of anyone just upgrading the speakers? Did they notice any improvement. is there disadvantages to swapping them?

I upgraded my 3 ways using Hertz Hi Energy speakers including one on the center of the dash but did use an aftermarket amp (its an odd size in the midrange). I'd suggest if you want clearer sound and more mid bass that you get an amp. Here is my audio build thread.

will definitely need an amp. The stock system...not levinson.. is under powered. Speakers alone will not do it. And unfortunately it is not an easy task based on the Lexus wiring system/electrical system.
