So I went into my regular local shop for an oil change which they always take care of me at a reasonable price of 52$. They then mentioned I needed new air filter and cabin air filter. I then asked what was the new total and it came to like 200$. So I said I would change myself it's not that hard and have done it in my past cars audi, BMW and Acura. I was wondering what is the best aftermarket oem style but high flow. Personally I like to use OEM parts. I go to my local lexus/toyota dealer and pick up my filters there. You can probably find them cheaper on the internet but my dealer is so close to where i work i never bothered trying to hunt down a bargain on the internet.

Don't use the air filter that uses oil because it will mess up with the O2 sensor.

Buy the OEM, they are about $22 from Sewell or if you want more performance, buy the high flow F Sport filter which can be used forever with regular cleaning.

Not a fan of the oil type air filters like the k&n. If you reuse them and over oil it, it could mess with your mass airflow sensor. Nothing wrong with any air filter you can pick up at carquest or advance autos.

I made a DIY for changing your filters here on the forum somewhere.
I used WIX air filters myself but I would go with OEM filters like everyone says.

Make sure you put the climate control system into "recirculation mode" before attempting to replace the cabin filter...

Yes I would go with oem from sewell if you don't mind getting online. But yea its very easy to replace both air and cabin filter. I am a complete Noob lol and it took my 5-10 min for both

I read that on someones DIY instructions to make sure to turn into recirculation mode! I think I will end up getting the F-sport air filter i found one on ebay for 55$ and free shipping. Although it mentions something about oiling it after washing it?? Do you guys who use the F sport air filter oil yours?

Save yourself the $25 and go OEM. The performance impacts will be negligible and the same goes for MPG....unless of course, you like the fact you have an "f-sport" air filter in your car

You don;t actually save in the long run as you donl;t have to change the F sport ever again yet you need to replace the regular one every so often.

Sure, assuming your keeping your car for 60K+ miles. For the casual driver, its much easier to use the OEM filter as other than saving ~$100 over your ownership period, there is no real gain.
