Default hands free no GPS

hello all, i am new to the forum. My wife has a 2009 is 250 with NO gps. i am trying to hook up the handfree option for the phone. the car again has no GPS so this is difficult. it does have phone on and phone off buttons. my wife said that the guy at the dealership hooked it up for her in the past. Does anyone know how to do this to save me a trip to the dealership?

2006-2009 models only had phone buttons on models with navigation.
2010-2013 models all have phone buttons.

If it's a 2009 without navigation it shouldn't have phone buttons, if it does, then they were added by someone after the fact, so people here might not know much about whatever system was added. If they weren't added after the fact, then it has to be a 2010 or newer model, in which case the instructions for phone pairing would be in the owner's manual, though it's pretty easy to do, you just press the talk button and then say "Setup", the system will guide you through the rest.

Nothing needs to be in any mode, you don't need to hold it down either, just push and release.

Maybe someone put a steering wheel from a newer car onto an older car?

It sounds like you're going to need to find out exactly what the car is, haha.
