Default Down here in New Zealand

Hi all

Thought it would be worth seeing who's around here from NZ

Although available new from dealers in NZ, the vast majority of IS's (and a large proportion of all cars here) are imported from Japan as used imports. Although probably not as cheap as the US, it means we have access to the masses of cars that come out of the Japanese auctions each day (which can be up to 30,000/day).

Because they are JDM spec there are some issues such as Jap Nav systems, but also a few bits and pieces the US misses out on such as JDM rain guards and OEM remote starters.

I bought mine directly from the auctions so a few unknowns until it arrived. Main bonus was the Suruga Speed exhaust which I'm a fan of.

I posted more photos up in the roll call thread, but my 06 IS350 is below

Many other Kiwi's lurking here?

Basically anything newer that 2005 can be imported as it will comply with frontal impact laws. Older stuff can be imported in limited circumstances

I see that's good to know I need to get a house there so I can get some of my dream cars.

With a JDM IS350 you should be able to get a tune on the ECU. That alone will make us in NA drool.

Been to both North and South islands of NZ, very nice place. I don't recall ever seeing a Lexus on my trip, though Lexus didn't have the presence then that they have now

I'm also in NZ. Also bought direct from japan auction. I got an 05 SGM IS350 ver L. Have done the roadrover nav conversion and put a set of 20's on it so far. Starting to see a few IS pop up on our roads now, sure there are more kiwis lurking here

Cheers, from what I can gather it's a genuine LX Mode one. Still haven't figured out where the rear diffuser is from, but looks similar to a Toms
