Default 2007 Lexus IS 250 won't start after rotating tires

SOOOOO, my hubby today changed my oil and rotated the tires. Now the car won't start, all warning lights are on including check engine VSC, traction control etc. Called Lexus, they said have it towed in, we don't know. Nice. Anyone else have this issue. In ran fine when he pulled it in to do the work.

Welcome to CL. Sorry to read about your issue. This could have been answered earlier but you posted in the build thread section. Have you tested the battery? The work performed has nothing to do with the car. Foot in the brake and key fob in the car?

The work has nothing to do with the problem. Even if your husband forgot to put oil in, the car still would start.

rotating the tires has nothing to do with the car not starting.....The lights are supposed to stay on until the car has started. You could attempt to hook it up to an OBD scanner, but it is most likely a battery issue.

The battery could be low enough to turn on all accessories but not turn over the car, try changing the battery before Lexus charges you some ridiculous price that could have been avoided.

thanks for the replies. Battery is good, car ran fine before work was started. Key fob is in and foot on the brake. When we can get the car started it won't go over 2000 RPM's or 20 MPH.

When he was doing the work he may have left the car battery on. And it discharged the battery down. Did you try to jump it after it wouldn't start? The fuses may have blow when the cables were hooked up backwards by accident.

If you know you have a good battery. Disconnect it and let the ECU reset all of the codes. Then hook it back up and try starting it again. Then try the fuses.

Good luck

You check the oil level is good after the change? You didn't drain the wrong oil (not sure if you can do it on the IS, I know people had done it with other cars)?

Possible carbon build up?

sounds like above. probably unplugged something or pulled on accident. weird though since you don't need to remove anything with hoses or wiring to change the oil.
