Personally I have the 6K garax bulbs that everybody else has and I think they're ricey and no where near the quality of the OEM phillips. I'd say try the phillips but theres no 'better' choice unless you go with OEM which I think are the best output and look.

I agree, I don't really like my garax. They look nice and all, but give very little lumen. I know its 6k and i shouldn't expect much luman, but I feel almost blind driving in the rain with the garax.

I would go with the phillips.

I would be cautious about getting a pair of Philips Ultinon bulbs for $100. They're more like $200-$250 for a pair of just the bulbs. The fakes that are going around (and there are plenty of them) tend to sell for around $100 a pair.

I have the Garax 6k bulbs and love them. Love the color, and have had 0 issues with them. I agree with the above post about not being able to see as well in the rain compared to stock bulbs (i've had that issue with other 6k bulbs too though) but otherwise they are great. You can make the rain visibility issues better when paired with a good set of 6k fogs to match (or 3k for contrast).

You get the Garax bulbs if you're not a big shot and can't afford $250-$300 Philips bulbs. Everyone would buy the Philips bulbs if they were the same price as the Garax bulbs.

I've had both. Garax sucked. I couldn't see anything. The lighting was horrible. I then purchased the Philips from Nigel on here and it was an improvement but still not as bright of course, but definitely better. If I had to do it again, I would try the Osram bulbs. I've heard nothing but wonderful experiences.

I'm thinking of buying Philips at kbcarstuff.com. Is there another good place to buy Philip bulbs?

If you see Philips Ultinon bulbs for $100, it's most likely counterfeit since the price is too good to be true.

Both XenonDepot (kbcarstuff.com) and Nigel-JDMParts are recommended CL vendors who sell genuine Philips bulbs.

I have a thread which I created a while ago with the Ultinon 6000K on my car. Looks great. They out perform Garax, so there is no comparision; you would get best lumen's output for the color.

Anyone should be able to get Philips bulbs, otherwise how did one afford to purchase a Lexus to get a nice car but cannot afford to get a nice set of lights?

No contest....Philips. I had the Garax and they were not as bright. Definitely worth the extra.

Ultinons are too dim in my opinion. They're 2400 or 2600 lumen instead of 3200 lumen for the original Philips Xeneco D4S bulb. I'm removing the D4S ballast this weekend and replacing it with a D2S so I can run Osram CBI's. They're rated 5500k at 3200 lumen. Best of both worlds.
