The same way as a 2007+, hold the trac off button for 5 seconds... The only negative is it will show a red triangle with exclamation point and say caution test mode in the display area. I am going to check with the lexus dealer to see if that can be disabled with a techstream...

I took some pics of suspension through the
turned front wheels.
Is that even aftermarket or stock?
I figure if the suspension was replaced sometime in the last
few years it should look newer..

I don't know, here is a pic.
I am new to these cars but is that just a stock ride height?
I think in addition to these F sport brace/sway, maybe
car needs to be lowered for maximum handling benefit.

It looks like stock shocks, springs and ride height also. Maybe the seller meant that he replaced the shocks with new stock shocks.
The S2000 is just on another league as far as driving experience and handling…no other car will feel like it (around that price range)
If you really want to improve the handling; Good tires, good suspension, good alignment, reduce as much weight as possible, stiffer sway bars, an LSD, better brake pads…after that, the car should be a lot better and more fun to drive on those roads.

Agree completely with the above statement. I have completed the list above, minus the LSD, and the car is transformed. I can compete with a stock M3 at the track with a driver with similar skills. Can't say I can run faster than them but the car is very close. A LSD would be a huge help for the track but sadly there are no options which I consider affordable. For the canyons I would say that it is unnecessary and less you drive the car like you want to crash it!

I had the exact same experience as you when I autocrossed against E46 M3s at autocross events. When I was running the full F-Sport suspension system (springs/shocks/sways/brace) and no LSD, I consistently finished within the same second as competing E46 M3s. When I also compared online review specs between the M3 and the Lexus IS equipped with the F-Sport Accessories package, I noticed that the skidpad and slalom figures were near identical. The M3 would have a better steering feel than the Lexus IS350 but that can be rectified with an IS-F Steering ECU.

I've only attended one autocross since the OS Giken TCD was installed and it was comprised almost entirely of tuned Corvairs (with fairly "senior" owners). I did get a faster lap time than each one of them if that counts for anything.

The E46 M3 Redspencer refers is from '00-'06, has a 333hp 3.2l I6, weighs ~3400lbs, and (IIRC) has a standard LSD, which is fairly close (on paper) to an IS350. Newer E9X series M3s from '07-'13 have a 4.0l 414hp V8, which are the models you are associating with IS F competition.
