Default Only Lexus Dealer Can Do Alignment?

Hello, I recently had four new tires mounted, and they are puling slightly to the right. I called a local tire shop (Tire Barn) and they mentioned that they may not be able to do an alignment for me due to a computer that keeps my wheels straight interfering-something only Lexus dealers can work with.

Has anyone had this problem, or has anyone had their AWD IS250 aligned somewhere besides Lexus?

Thank you!

No way, I went to a shop that did only alignments and they did an amazing job. The place that I went to charged me $60 for alignment and gave me a printout sheet of the type of alignment (because my IS350 is a RWD it required a thrust alignment) as well as the changes from before and after results. Lexus wanted $120-$130 (can't exactly remember the price) at the time when I went to get my service done under warranty.

You can go anywhere to get a 4 wheel alignment.

Are you sure they are balanced correctly? Just simply removing your wheels should not change your alignment.

I too thought that mounting new tires should not have affected the alignment...

I think they are balanced correctly, I didn't feel any vibration with the steering wheel when driving 70 mph.

I did notice that Sears inflated the Continental DWS tires to about 40-45 psi. I know the max on the tire is 50 psi, but the driver's front door sill sticker recommends 35 psi in the front and 38 in the rear tires.

I'm at a Midas shop right now, they're checking it out.

I've gotten my tires aligned at a Discount Tire before. Not all the places may have the tools to do an alignment but it's definitely not dealer exclusive.

The guy at Midas just told me that it's a steering sensor that only a Toyota/Lexus dealer can adjust. The wheels are in alignment, but the steering wheel cannot be set to "O" since it is a computer issue. He doesn't have the tools/technology to do it.

Is this valid?

Not true. The guy at Midas is lazy as f***.

The only adjustable spec is toe. Caster and camber will require aftermarket arms and ball joints.

Removing tires will not effect alignment.

+1 on 2slow.

I did both my IS alignment at the local shop. Just make sure the toe is 0. I also have my camber adjusted to within specs.
