Default 245s on 06 is250

Tires need replacing.

A friend is selling a set of 4 but their all sized as 245s. I know currently the fronts are 225s and rear is 245s. Would 245s fit up front? I haven't found a definitive answer on this.

You will most likely have rubbing.

As much of a pain as it can be, find the proper size and save yourself future headaches.

I just went through replacing 4 perfectly good tires because they were 45 series.

What size are the tires? 245/45R17 or 245/??R17?

I run 245/40R17 all around on mine.

I run 245/40R17 on the front & 245/45R17 on the back. Stock ride heigh, no rubbing.

One thing Jeff forgot to mention is that he is running (IIRC) Bridgestone RE-11s on his car, so his 245s are as wide as many 255s.

On my stock 18s, I'm using Michelin Pilot Super Sports and running 245/35R18 tires on the front and 255/40R18 tires on the back. My IS350 is also lowered with F-Sport Springs and Shocks.

This is true, I am running RE-11A's, and before that I was running Dunlop Z1 Star Specs, which are also wider than many 245's.

You can usually get away with 235s on the 17x8" wheel but 245s are a no-no.

Stock is 245 on a 17x8, so what do you mean?

You can absolutely "get away" with 245's on an 8-inch wheel, it's within the specifications for that size tire, it's not even a question.
